100A to 200A Underground Electrical Service Upgrade
A complete residential electrical upgrade from an older 100 amp underground service and Stab-Lok panel to a new 200 amp service, Siemens electrical panel, new meter base, new service conductors and feeders, along with an EV charger.
Before beginning the project, Hundel Electric visited the property to inspect the existing electrical service, electrical panel and overall installation. The home was operating with an older Stab-Lok panel and a 100 amp underground electrical service.
We completed a residential load calculation before starting the upgrade to determine the electrical demand of the home and confirm the requirements for the new 200 amp service. This allowed the new service, panel and EV charging load to be properly planned before installation began.
Hundel Electric pulled the required electrical permit and coordinated the project with BC Hydro and the required parties involved in the service upgrade. We handled the project from the initial site review and load calculation through service planning, permit coordination, installation and completion of the electrical work.
The completed installation included a new 200 amp Siemens electrical panel, new meter base, new service conductors and feeders, the upgraded underground electrical service and an EV charger. The result provides the home with significantly more electrical capacity for both its current needs and future electrical loads.
Planning & Coordination
- Visited the property before the project began to inspect the existing 100 amp underground service and older Stab-Lok electrical panel
- Reviewed the homeowner's existing electrical loads and planned upgrades before changing the electrical service
- Completed a residential load calculation to confirm the electrical demand and requirements for the new 200 amp service

Completed Electrical Work
- Upgraded the home's underground electrical service from 100 amps to 200 amps
- Removed the older Stab-Lok electrical panel and installed a new 200 amp Siemens electrical panel
- Installed a new electrical meter base for the upgraded residential service
- Installed the new service conductors, feeders and electrical connections required for the 200 amp installation
- Added an EV charger as part of the completed electrical upgrade
- Completed the electrical portion of the project from initial assessment and planning through the final upgraded installation
