Fixture Installation & Replacement
Light Fixture Installation & Repair in Delta & the Lower Mainland
Licensed installation and replacement of ceiling lights, chandeliers, pendants, vanity lights, sconces, flush mounts, exterior fixtures, motion lights and light-commercial fixtures across Delta, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Vancouver, Langley, Coquitlam and nearby Lower Mainland cities.
Hundel Electric reviews the fixture weight, mounting hardware, electrical box, existing wiring, switching and dimmer compatibility before installation. Some fixtures are direct replacements, while heavier, oversized or relocated fixtures may require additional support, new wiring or ceiling access.
Fixture projects may also connect with lighting and pot-light upgrades, switch and dimmer installation, electrical troubleshooting, washroom fan work or a smaller electrical service call.

Clean fixture installations

Direct replacement or new location?
Moving a fixture is a different project from replacing one.
A direct replacement can often use the existing box and wiring. Moving, adding or centring a fixture may require new cable, ceiling access, box installation, framing review and repairs to finished surfaces.
Fixture replacement
Best suited when the existing location, electrical box, conductors and switching can safely support the selected replacement fixture.
New or relocated fixture
Requires review of the wiring route, ceiling construction, joist location, box support, switching and any drywall or painting work.
Heavy and high fixtures
Weight, ceiling height and access can change the scope.
Large chandeliers, oversized pendants and fixtures above stairways or tall foyers may require reinforced support, two electricians, scaffolding, a lift or specialized access equipment. Those requirements should be identified before scheduling.
Heavy fixture support
The existing electrical box and structure must be suitable for the fixture. Additional framing, blocking or a listed support system may be required.
High-ceiling access
Stairwells, vaulted ceilings and tall foyers may require equipment or labour beyond a standard ladder installation and should be quoted separately.
Dimmers and LED compatibility
Not every LED fixture works properly with every dimmer.
Flickering, buzzing, limited dimming range and delayed startup can result from incompatible lamps, drivers or dimmers. Hundel Electric reviews the fixture specifications and existing control before recommending a dimmer replacement.
Switch and dimmer installation
Switch replacement, compatible LED dimmers, smart switches, timers, GFCI devices and finished-home control upgrades.

Questions & answers
Common questions about light-fixture installation
These answers explain common replacement, chandelier, dimmer and project-scope questions before a homeowner or business requests a quote.
Can you replace an old light with a new fixture?
Yes. Many fixtures can use the existing electrical box and wiring, but the box condition, conductors, grounding, support and fixture weight should still be reviewed.
Can you install a chandelier or heavy pendant?
Yes, when the support and access are suitable. Heavy fixtures may require reinforcement, a listed support system, two electricians or specialized access equipment.
Can you move or centre a light fixture?
Often, yes. Moving a fixture may require new wiring, a new electrical box, ceiling access and drywall or painting work beyond a standard replacement.
Can you add a dimmer?
Often, yes. The dimmer must be compatible with the fixture or lamps, and the existing switch wiring must support the selected control.
Do you install exterior and motion lights?
Yes. Hundel Electric installs suitable porch lights, garage lights, exterior wall fixtures, motion lights and security lighting. Damaged boxes, wiring or siding conditions may add to the scope.
Is fixture assembly included?
Basic assembly may be included when clearly shown in the quote. Large chandeliers, crystal installation, complex assembly and extensive adjustment can require additional labour.
What should I send for a fixture-installation quote?
Send the fixture model, dimensions and weight, photos of the current fixture or box, the switch or dimmer, ceiling height, number of fixtures, your city and whether the location is changing.
